POSITION SUMMARYThe Compliance Manager plays a vital role in Abound Credit Union's (Credit Union) risk management process.
The Compliance Manager will support the Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance (GRC) program by performing risk assessments and monitoring activities to ensure that the Compliance Program remains current and is aligned with regulatory and legal requirements.
To effectively manage the BSA and Deposit Compliance Program, the Compliance Manager works closely with all departments to ensure regulatory and fiduciary obligations are met.
This role advises the departments on implications of new regulatory and legal policies, products, and assists in the implementation of new or revised policies and programs to address them.
To identify trends, and appropriately mitigate risk, this position develops and maintains compliance information for analysis and reporting.
The Director of Compliance provides day-to-day management of the Compliance Manager.
This position will have a hybrid remote status.
Some time in the office will be required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES Coordinates and performs risk-based deposit compliance reviews to determine if the Credit Union is in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
Identifies and analyzes factors which may affect risk mitigation and compliance.
Works proactively with departments and management to identify and implement changes to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and ensure suggested compliance enhancements can be effectively and efficiently maintained throughout the Credit Union.
Anticipates potential consequences of unaddressed risk factors or shortfalls in compliance and recommends appropriate controls.
Provides ongoing dialogue and discussion to identify opportunities to implement more effective and efficient compliance-related policies and procedures.
Elevates high profile or high-risk cases to the Director of Compliance and management to ensure visibility and prompt resolution.
Executes appropriate testing and analyzes key performance indicators to ensure requirements of policies and procedures are maintained at a level commensurate with regulatory expectations.
Support root cause analysis in response to material control failures.
Prepares complete, accurate documentation of compliance monitoring and surveillance activities.
Report findings to the Director of Compliance and management and provide timely follow-up on outstanding issues.
Ensures monitoring is clear and concise to the applicable user.
Provides advisory service on compliance matters to management.
Review various forms, disclosures and advertisements for compliance with applicable requirements.
Identify training needs based on gaps identified through the compliance monitoring process.
Works with the Learning and Development Team to ensure appropriate and timely training is provided to applicable team members.
Maintains Credit Union Standing Operating Procedures related to deposit compliance regulations and the Bank Secrecy Act.
Recommends and formulates changes to policies and procedures to comply with changes to law/regulation.
Designs, develops, and carries out Bank Secrecy, Financial Privacy and Patriot Act programs.
The Manager, BSA and Deposit Compliance serves as the Bank Secrecy Act Officer and OFAC Officer.
Supervises and coaches the Compliance Team, providing guidance, direction, development and training.
Proactively seeks applicable training and coaching opportunities to ensure the Compliance Team continually develops expertise for business continuity and succession planning needs.
Develops and maintains expertise to support being a deposit and BSA compliance resource for the Credit Union.
Other jobs and tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONSREQUIRED:
Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification or similar certification through an accredited organization.
If not certified at time of position appointment individuals will complete certification within six months of appointment to position.
Certified individuals will complete compliance classes no less than once every quarter and will keep certification active.
Bank Secrecy Act Certified through accredited organization.
If not certified at time of position appointment individuals will complete certification within six months of appointment to position.
Certified individuals will complete BSA classes no less than once every quarter and will keep certification active.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in compliance and/or operations in the financial industry.
Ability to work independently with only broad mission-type guidance, delivering desired products under strict time constraints.
Knowledge of/experience in applying compliance/auditing principles, practices, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and procedures.
Ability to understand complex legal and regulatory material and apply to work situations.
Superior communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficiency with personal computers and application software such as email, internet, intranet, word processor and spreadsheets.
High degree of confidentiality and the ability to interact productively with a variety of personalities.
DESIRED:
Bachelors Degree in related field.
Relevant experience in a consumer financial services setting.
Knowledge of the credit union movement and credit union policies and procedures.
Salary Info:
$73,553.
44 - $91,941.
79 / Year Recommended Skills Auditing Bank Secrecy Act Communication Confidentiality Consulting Finance Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
