TITLE:
Director of Plant Operations and Safety POSITION
Summary:
The Director of Plant Operations and Safety, in conjunction with appropriate management, develop, direct, and evaluate comprehensive safety, life safety, and occupational health management program for the hospital and related facilities.
Devise and recommend strategies to ensure organizational compliance with accrediting and/or regulatory bodies.
Ensure safety policies are current and reflect internal and external requirements.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the Environment of Care Policy and Procedure manual.
Provide safety, life safety, occupational health, and environmental training programs for the members of the organization.
POSITION
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and demonstrates competence in the human stages of growth and development.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Undergraduate education with core study in safety, safety management, plant maintenance with one year experience, or related job experience may substitute for the college degree.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, technical journals, maintenance manuals, patient care evaluations, and information reports.
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from regulatory agencies.
Ability to communicate on an effective level with staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, visitors, and patients.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSBILITIES:
Directly supervises the maintenance worker.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; regarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
